- GPU fan nosie
- It is because the default driver does not have the fan control, you could
- Driver -> Additional Driver -> install fglrx-updates
- Cannot full screen
- After installing fglrx driver
- $ sudo amdcccle
- Display Manger -> Digital Monitor (1) -> Adjustments -> Scaling Options -> 0%

Can not log in to Skype in Ubuntu
Skype 4.2 worked perfectly until this morning in my Ubuntu 12.04. It took me a while to make Skype work again. This is how it works.
Remove Skype 4.2
*I tried to apt-get update to get the latest Skype. However, it seems the apt list is not up to date at that time, I can get the latest Skype by that approach.
Then install Skype 4.3
$ sudo apt-get remove skypeGet rid of old Skype configuration
$ rm -fR ~/.SkypeDownload Skype 4.3 from Skype's website (http://www.skype.com/en/download-skype/skype-for-computer/). From there I got
skype-ubuntu-precise_4.3.0.37-1_i386.deb*Depending on your machine and time, you might get different version of Skype.

Math extesion for MediaWiki
I spent quite a lot of effort to deal with Math extension for MediaWiki 1.19.2, and I have encountered the following errors:
PHP Fatal error: Call to undefined method TempFSFile::autocollect()This is how it finally works for (at least for me). BTW, I'm using Ubuntu 12.04.
PHP Fatal error: Call to undefined method FSFileBackend::getRootStoragePath()
1.First of all the HEAD in git did not work, you shall download the following version.
2.Install texvc, which generate graph for latex syntaxcd extensions git clone https://gerrit.wikimedia.org/r/p/mediawiki/extensions/Math.git cd Math git reset --hard 29a0a80e8fbb2d33507760075e4da9103439cbd9
3.Modify LocalSettings.php:sudo apt-get install mediawiki-math
require_once("$IP/extensions/Math/Math.php");
$wgTexvc = '/usr/bin/texvc';
4.Update your database to generate table for Math extenstion.
5.Don't forget to check permission of folders to your wiki account. It should work.sudo php <your_path_to_wiki>/maintenance/update.php
If it still won't work, try to take a look at /var/log/apache2/error.log to see if there's any error message.
Hope this works for you : )

Tip that make Firefox runs fast!
I found Firefox 16.0.2 works incredibly slow in Ubuntu 12.04.
After following some debugging procedures like this, I found that it is the "Global Menu Bar integration 3.5.4" Add-on that make Firefox slow.
Simply disable it make my Firefox runs fast again.
